Do Riders to the rescue.

First of all a warm welcome to all of you who have pressed that  magic button and followed me today.  Thanks to those who left me lovely comments I had no idea that people would enjoy my simple story as much they have, and thanks to Rhonda fron DTE who left a link to the story and saw my pageviews sky rocket to unprecedented highs!

Today we took a little time out to enjoy a some entertainment kindly put on  by our local Council. Our favourite homegrown band The Do Riders were playing in the Park.

We joined in with the ukelele workshop....

And then sat back and enjoyed the music..

Jane and Mark, Mick and Nikki are skilled in a wide range of instruments and their music is easy  to listen too.

And now for a change of instruments.

Mick has made some of the instruments they play, using timber from his own farm.

It is just great when the community comes together to have fun and celebrate the diversity of customs that make this such a great place to live. It is wonderful when the local council facilitates these types of event.

  5. Hi Kim, no we don't have a ukelele but we have been thinking about getting one for a while now. As I remember we even talked about getting ourselves one each for the Christmas before last. Have you got one? They are giving lessons in Cessnock this year and it's so much fun
