Meghann's Flying Visit

We had a quick visit from my eldest and her partner on the weekend. We spent the afternoon together at the beach with Rhonnie, Scott, Evan and Travis. A very windblown outing. Over 30 c on the farm but 20 something and cool on the coast. Anyway nice to catch up with the family, but did miss the youngest who is still in Melbourne.
Then out to dinner with Meg and Dom for an early birthday (for me) dinner. A new top for me...


I wore it today and got many comments on my lovely new top....

and some beautiful home made rhubarb jam. We had some on pikelets for morning tea today. Yummy.

Thank you both both your gifts, and the lovely meal out last night and most of all thanks for just being the wonderful, beautiful people you are. I'm so very proud of  you both.

    You are beautiful Kate and I can see why you have gotten comments on your top, it's very pretty.
    Happy birthday. It sounds like you have had a great time. I am curious about pikelets? I have never heard of them before, do you grow them or make them?

      Thanks Tracey. Pikelets are like little pancakes only thicker. 1 egg, 4 tablespoons sugar 1 cup self raising flour (baking powder added to plain flour) 3/4 cup milk 1/4 teaspoon bicarb soda 1 tablespoon melted butter. Very English I would think. We eat them for morning tea mainly with jam and cream or just jam.
