I''m Still Here!

Hello again. I bet you thought I'd dissappeared off the face of the planet. But no, just off the face of Blogger land. My goodness, first there was stuff going on with photos, that I know a lot of you have dealt with as well, and then our computer, which has been limping along all year finally packed it in and we had to buy a new one. And that's where it all became totally unstuck. I just could not access my blog. I could read it but not post or sign in, so couldn't even leave comments on all my usual blogs. But I thought I'd give it one more go and what do you know it let me sign in.

So, I know you all had a great Christmas because I have checked in with you all and I wish you a Happy New Year.We had a very quiet Christmas day which suits me just fine. Two of my daughters were around but the third remained in Melbourne. Very much missed I might add, and now she's off on an adventure in India. Mark and I had a great time making gifts for the little ones in the family, Block trolleys for the two youngest ones who are close to walking, magian cape and tricks for the 5 year old, felt fishing game for the three year old and felt ball and knitted cuddly doll for the toddler. And for the 10 year old a wooden sword and shield as in Viking tradition made by Mark. Not sure what his reaction would be, but he loved it!

We have managed so far to keep our market garden going well, moving water from here to there and back agin, well not quite back again, but it feels like it. But Mark has just informed me that we are officially out of water, but I have reminded him that there may be some in the house tank that we can transfer. But what we need of course is rain. We really haven't had any significant rain events since winter and we really do depend on the typical spring rains. Oh well It's a farmers life!I keep my fingers crossed that any day soon rain will come. It has to rain one day, right. Mark says every day is one day closer to rain.

And we are just back from Peats Ridge music festival working on the Purple Pear Farm stall.  Met some really beautiful people doing amazing things and loved that  so many people came to visit us and hear about what we do at the farm. We received lots of praise for what we are doing and were happy to see that we inspired many more.

The past year has been really great for us and such an improvement on the previous one. (So much tradgedy for us that year). But for 2012 the birth of two new grandsons probably tops the bill. We are looking forward to a very productive year full of wonderful things, and hopefully I'll get the photo thing worked out. Thanks to everyone who took  the time to visit and leave such lovely comments throughout the year.

  5. Hi Kate, the rain situation is awful! We bought more water after Christmas but it must be very worrying for you with the large gardens to look after. I'm glad your posting again.
