Around The Farm- Permaculture Playgroup.

The urn's ready

The highchair's waitng ....

The backyard awaits....

And people start to arrive...

A few weeks back a lovely young mum arrived here with her husband and baby to do a worm farming course. She asked about our Farm Birthday Parties during a break for morning tea. A few days later she emailed to thank us for the course and wondered if I'd thought about having a playgroup here at the farm, a bit like this permaculture group in Melbourne, incorporating feeding the animals and collecting the eggs as per the parties. I thought it would be a lovely idea as I do love the little ones and having once been a pre school teacher I thought I could provide some expertise..It also gave me some more time with Rhonnie and Evan as they were keen to join the group.

Here they are before the walk around the farm ...

And here they having a top up after the exertions of feeding the animals....

The group will remain small with maybe just a couple more mums joining.

.

The group has been established to bring like-minded families together; to share the ebbs and flows of parenting small children and to provide a shared opportunity for our children to enjoy all the natural world has to offer.

We were provided with a glorious spring like day for our first playgroup session, and we all look forward to our next gathering.

Thanks for visiting

Kate

  7. That is such a good idea! I had groups of children here with various activities during the unschooling years and quite often think of it, actually. The place needs to be used and shared, methinks.

  8. What a great idea and a wonderful get together Kate.
So nice to be able to share where you live with others. I know my son would've loved that when he was younger as my parents farmlet was just a little to far away to visit regularly....
